Counselor/HEART database
Interpretation: When working with
individual students, both in the classroom and in my office, I frequently use
performance data to make decisions about their individual needs. The number and content of behavior referrals
a student has in our HEART database affects the manner in which I instruct and/or
counsel them.

Description of Artifact: Displays of student work/classroom projects
Data

Counselor/Students
Interpretation: I do guidance
lessons in every K-1 classroom once a week. Every 4-6 weeks, I display student
work in classrooms, the 1st grade POD, or in the hallways to further illustrate
our building's involvement with and commitment to the school counseling
program/values of Bondurant's BEST. These displays illustrate the
responsibility I am taking in creating a classroom (and building-wide) culture
that supports every student's learning.
e.
Creates an environment of mutual respect, rapport, and fairness.

Counselor
Interpretation: Both in the
classroom and my counseling office, I work hard to create an environment that
embraces and encourages the use of good character and making choices that
reflect Bondurant's BEST. Since I do not have my own classroom to work with, I
try to influence the whole building by hanging Bondurant's BEST-related artwork
and inspirational quotes. In addition, my office is a colorful, non-threatening
environment in which students can come in to and expect to feel relaxed,
comfortable, and respected.
f.
