Standard 8: Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.

a. Adheres to board policies, district procedures, and contractual obligations. 
Description of Artifact: Contract

Interpretation: My teacher’s continuing contract, given to me in May, 2012, illustrates my professional commitment to the district and the way in which I have fulfilled all of my contractual requirements. I returned a signed copy to our superintendent’s office in May, 2012.

b. Demonstrates professional and ethical conduct as defined by state law and individual district policy.
Description of Artifact: Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training

Interpretation: This artifact represents how I am in compliance with state law and district policy requiring teachers to have participated in Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training. I took the class through AEA Professional Development Online (Heartland AEA).

c. Contributes to efforts to achieve district and building goals.
Description of Artifact: SST Team 
Data Source: Counselor 
Interpretation: One way I contribute to Bondurant-Farrar's efforts to achieve building goals is through my membership on the Anderson Elementary SST Team. For example, the SST Team addresses the annual goal of meeting Adequate Yearly Progress for the required testing in the content areas of reading, math, and science by ensuring struggling students are assessed regularly to monitor their mastery of grade-appropriate reading fluency and/or comprehension skills.

d. Demonstrates an understanding of and respect for all learners and staff. 
Description of Artifact: SST Level 2 follow-up meeting with parents

Interpretation:My attendance at this Level 2 SST meeting with parents is one example of how I understand and respect all learners, regardless of their skills/academic ability level.

e. Collaborates with students, families, colleagues, and communities to enhance student learning.
Description of Artifact: Anderson Elementary Counselor Connection monthly newsletters 
Data Source: Counselor 
Interpretation: One major way I collaborate with students, parents, and families/people in the community about the Anderson Elementary school counseling program is through my monthly Anderson Elementary Counselor Connection newsletters. Through the information in these newsletters, I am hoping to provide a message that is easy to understand, encourage parental support of their child, and explain ways to enhance student’s academic and social learning.
